Conference Logistics

When students and advisors arrive on American University’s campus on Saturday morning they will be greeted by our staff and welcomed into the School of International Service, AU’s state of the art building for students studying international relations. All WIRCshops will be held in the morning, followed by lunch which is provided to all attendees. After lunch the GA, Crisis, and UNSC simulations will begin where students will participate in UN simulations catering around our regional focus, The African Century. These simulations will be led by members of our sister conference AmeriMUNC’s staff and members of AUMUN, the #1 Model UN team in North America. The day will finish with closing remarks from the Charge D'Affaires and an award ceremony where students and their schools will be recognized.

For our virtual delegates, we will be sending out zoom links for both the WIRCshops and simulations through our delegate handbook at the beginning of November. In-person delegates will also receive a delegate handbook with room numbers and assignments. Please note that WIRC does not cover accommodations or transportation to and from American University’s campus. However, we are more than happy to give recommendations for hotels, restaurants, and modes of transportation close to campus.
