Our Initiatives

Our conference strives to be both educational, professional, and comfortable for students attending both in-person on American University’s campus, and online through Zoom. We want to ensure that students leave with the basic skillset for Model UN conferences into the future, along with enough confidence to help them achieve their individual goals.

FrameWIRC

The Model UN FrameWIRC program is a new initiative that intends to offer guidance to advisors and delegates throughout the academic year. Central to the program are online consultations and training to provide the next steps and resources in developing a Model UN team. The program aims to aid in the formation of a Model UN team, advance and develop the team through training and resources, and foster a passion for international affairs. WIRC recognizes the unique benefits of Model UN, but it also acknowledges the financial and accessibility barriers present in forming and maintaining a Model UN team and attending a conference. Building on our commitment to broaden the reach of our education services, engage with American University’s surrounding community, and leverage our student body’s niche passion for international relations, WIRC is expanding its services to address and mitigate the barriers of entry to Model UN. By exposing student populations to Model UN, we hope to open a new avenue for professional and academic development and broaden the scope of career aspirations. Please do not hesitate to contact the FrameWIRC Coordinator at andrew@au-wirc.com to indicate your interest in this program or if you have any related questions or concerns.
